Andrea grew up in Michigan, writing and daydreaming in the forest. She's spent the past decade doing much of the same in far too many locations to list. She currently resides in San Francisco where she checks out too many library books, wanders the botanical garden, and drinks mead with her boyfriend under California stars.
Andrea is the author of the science-daydream-playbook Imagination Transforms Everything (Seal Press, 2019). She writes fiction for young adults and children. Andrea also writes the fairy tales at FantastyKitchen.com. Her work is inspired by fairy tales, folklore, fashion, daydreams, pop culture, nature, magic, Romantic poetry, surrealism, the supernatural, childhood, and the liminal space between fantasy and reality.
Formerly, Andrea was the San Francisco editor of DailyCandy, where she shared hundreds of Bay Area-based dreamers' stories, and the Make Editor at Brit + Co, where she focused on the intersection of science, creativity, and spirituality filtered through a pop culture lens. Her work has been published in Teen Vogue, The San Francisco Chronicle Style section, Allure, Vegetarian Times, Venus Zine, and Men's Journal, among others. Digitally, she's contributed to Nylon, Elle, Refinery29, Rodale's Organic Life, Conde Nast BRIDES, and MSN.com, among others. She's offered intuitive and creative services to companies such as Expedia, Groupon, Hawaiian Airlines, Bodhi Tree, Ebates, Loho Bride, and Organic Beauty Now, among others.
Andrea is represented by Lucinda Halpern at Lucinda Literary (non-fiction) and Julie Dinneen at D4EO Literary Agency (fiction)
